 DESCRIPTION

The Ertl Co. of Dyersville, Iowa is well known today for 1:18 scale diecast but in the 1970's and 1980's, many fine 1:64 scale vehicles were produced. It is curious that so little information is available on these models. Some were tied to movie or TV cars such as the car shown here. The Maserati Quattroporte (four door in Italian) was featured in Rocky III and Ertl produced this excellent diecast version. Small-scale Maserati models are scarce and this is the only example of the sedan. Headlights and taillights are detailed and the proportions are excellent. Unfortunatly, the wheels used by Ertl did not hold up well to play so finding mint examples is not easy. Ertl has recently re-issued their 'Dukes of Hazzard' 1:64 scale cars.
