 DESCRIPTION

Another favorite from Matchbox, the Ford GT40 is every inch, a supercar. The racing version won Le Mans and was actually offered as a street car. The mid-engined V8 bested Ferrari on the track and has been a blue-chip collectible ever since. The Matchbox version came out in 1965 with regular wheels and was offered with Superfast wheels in 1970. In American racing colors, white with a blue stripe, it looks just right. The blue and green examples were produced for Matchbox in Bulgaria. Supply is fairly good but top quality examples are starting to thin out. A must for any diecast collection, get one while you can. (blue racing stripes added on RW car)
