DESCRIPTION It took two years for Matchbox to produce it but it is worth the wait. Jaguar's newest sports car, the XK-8 is every inch in the tradition of Coventry's finest. Compared here to the Matchbox 'E' type of the 1960's and the Matchbox XJ220 of the early 1990's, the tradition of Jaguars in the Matchbox line has been upheld. Matchbox has now produced 10 Jaguar models; SS100, XK120, XK140, Mk. 1, 'D' type, Mk. X, 'E' type, XJ40, XJ220, XK-8, and the hot rod Draguar as #11. I have always wondered why the Mk. II, original XJ6 and XJ-S were not done as well. Regardless, Matchbox and Jaguar go together. Comparing the Matchbox XK-8 and Hot Wheels XK-8 only confirms that Matchbox builds miniatures, Hot Wheels makes toys.
