DESCRIPTION Road Champs of Harrison, NJ has produced many small-scale diecast. While clearly intended as toys, the older Road Champs are often well cast and represent cars not done by other manufacturers. The 1948 Buick Roadmaster is a case in point. Buicks have received little attention from diecast producers. The Roadmaster of the late 1940's is an unexpected addition to small-scale diecast. It came in black with flames and two-tone blue, with opening doors. With few manufacturers producing any Buicks, this is Road Champs second (see 1983 Riviera). Perhaps someone at Road Champs was a Buick fan. | |
