 DESCRIPTION

Siku toy vehicles are German miniatures that feature excellent detail and fine craftsmanship. The first diecast, small-scale cars were produced in 1963. Number 269 in the series is a 1966 Ferrari Berlinetta 275 GTB. This is one of the few small-scale diecast example of the 275 GTB ever done. The colors of the German-made version leaves much to be desired. No Ferrari ever left the factory in turquoise or with an orange interior. The Hungarian version in silver is an improvement although the plastic headlights and tail-lights are gone. Siku's regular wheels are overwhelmed by the scale of the German car while the 'Siku' white walls actually look better on the Hungarian car. The covered headlights are very nice red, plastic tail-lights look just right. This is one of the first Siku models to move up to 1:55 scale, the more common scale for modern Siku offerings. The Hungarian version was offered by Metchy.
