DESCRIPTION Siku toy vehicles are German miniatures that feature excellent detail and fine craftsmanship. The first diecast, small-scale cars were produced in 1963. Number 234 -A in the series is a 1963 Porsche 901. This is one of the earliest diecast Siku models and represents the birth of the Porsche 911 line. It is identified as a '901' as that was the initial Porsche model identification. Peugeot forced Porsche to change the model to '911' as Peugeot claimed the rights to all model numbers beginning with '90.' This car represents the early 'regular-wheel' Siku diecast. The hood opens and gem-like headlights make this a true delight for the collector. | |
