For the third year, 'Tales of Toy Cars' readers have the opportunity to select the Best Toy Car and Toy Car Manufacturer of the Year. Two toy cars are selected, one 'regular line and one 'collector line' model. We defined 'regular line' as models produced primarily for children and 'collector line' models as those produced primarily for adults. Some might question the nomination of specific models. The Hot Wheel '71 Plymouth GTX casting is not new but the addition of a metal base, red-line tires and chrome paint for the 'Classics' series, gives it a whole new look. Some of these models may have appeared in late 2004 but did not join my collection until I found them at the stores in 2005. Please vote for one 'regular line' model and one 'collector line' model and one manufacturer. Ballots with more than three votes total will be considered void. Perhaps the best way to vote is to ask yourself if you could only have one regular and one collector line model, which would they be? For the manufacturer, who has contributed the most to the toy car hobby for 2005? This is intended to solicit a personal, subjective decision on your part. Simply check three boxes and hit the 'submit' button at the bottom of this page. Thank you to everyone who assisted with nominations for these awards. The winners will be announced in the February 2006 issue. May the best toy cars win. Additional images courtesy of Rob Gras
