As American as
Chevrolet and Hot Wheels |
Somehow, Chevy and Hot Wheels just seem to go together. The first HW was a Chevrolet,
a 1967 Custom Camaro. HW has continued to produce many Corvettes and Camaros
but they have also done a lot of the less exotic Chevy models. For 2004, two
more basic Bow-ties are in the line-up. Here is a look at 45 years of Chevy
history from a Hot Wheels perspective.
I have focused on cars and left out any trucks or truly wild customs. Racing
cars have been included where they represent a specific production model. I
have also selected models that have been offered in the regular lines opposed
to the 100% HW line or other collector series. It is curious that the more recent
years have the least representation. Indeed, if not for NASCAR models, the 1980's
and 90's would be rather thin. Of course the addition of Corvette and Camaro
would help balance this.
